I was part of the Nirvana Photography Tour in November 2019 and it surpassed my expectations. It was fantastic from start to finish, exhausting, but what sights and experiences we had. Looking for tigers from the back of an elephant; flying around Everest with Buddha Airways; punting up a river to see crocodiles; watching the sun rise and set over the Himalayas many times; exploring temples full of treasures; having a private audience with the Living Goddess; visiting a remote Gurkha village where we slept in tents and woke to see the sunrise over the Annapurna range; and generally being astonished every day. Bijen Gurung is a superb guide with a wide personal knowledge of Nepal and a network of contacts with local people who made us very welcome including joining a family to celebrate the Tihar festival, and being invited to join in dancing with the local villagers. The opportunities for photography, from street to portrait to landscape pictures, are endless. It was quite simply the trip of a lifetime.
